Bernina Express - Swiss passages
An intriguing proposition for travel lovers, off the beaten tourist track, is a journey by panoramic train. One thing is certain: it is different from all the others! It is an offer for those who would like to experience an unusual and fascinating adventure, while at the same time having the opportunity to admire beautiful views. The Bernina Express is a panoramic train that travels one of the most scenic routes on the continent....
By train through the Alps
One of the most comfortable and well-organised rail networks in the world is held by Switzerland. The highlight of a journey through this country is a ride on one of the panoramic routes. What sets Swiss trains apart is not so much their punctuality and extreme comfort, but above all their excellent visibility thanks to large panoramic windows and partially glazed roofs.

By panoramic train, you can experience the charm of the Swiss Alps in an unusual way. During the journey, you can enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, glaciers, valleys, lakes and picturesque meandering rivers. Information about the attractions visible to the passenger outside the window can be received in several languages via headphones, which each traveller will find next to their seat. One thing is certain! They reach the most extraordinary places. Of course, there are faster ways to travel. However, the most important factor in this journey is not the speed, but the impressions to which the traveller will be exposed.

Bernina Express
The rail route of the Bernina Express has been recognised by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, while also declaring it one of the most spectacular in the world. The line was launched a century ago.
The route Chur - St.Moritz - Bernina Pass - Poschiavo - Tirano is over 140 km of landscapes that change as if in a caledoscope. Starting from the eternal glaciers of the Bernina massif, through the vineyards of the Valtellina valley and ending in the warm and sunny Tirano. During the route, the train crosses 55 tunnels (the longest of which is the 6-kilometre Albula, at the same time the highest in the entire Alps, 1778 metres above sea level) and crosses 196 bridges.

The train crosses the Swiss Alps on its four-hour journey, making this route known as the most beautiful link between the cold north and the warm south. In its initial phase, the Bernina Express passes the giant Morteratsch glacier (3751 m). Travel enthusiasts are of the opinion that the section between Chur (it is the oldest town in Switzerland) and Sankt Moritz is the most spectacular mountain rail route in the world. During the course, the viaducts, in particular the arch viaduct - Landwasser - are also stunning.
The train climbs to the Bernina Pass (2253 m), the highest in Europe, from which the express takes its name. It then descends in numerous curves into the Poschiavo valley, so that the passenger can admire the lake and the town of the same name. And it doesn't stop there! Those who continue to Tirano will experience another unique attraction in Brusio. This is a ride on the famous 107-metre-long circular viaduct.
Getting off at the destination station in Tirano brings this fantastic journey to an end. Once you have had a "taste" of the Italian town, you can return, as another extraordinary panoramic journey awaits the passenger.
